TL;DR: Fireside is a desktop app. When you connect a Google account or a service account, the app talks directly from your computer to Google's APIs. Your Firebase data, your Google sign-in tokens and your service account keys never reach our servers. We only handle what's needed to sell and license the app.
Fireside is a desktop client for Firebase (Firestore, Authentication and Storage), developed and operated by envie studio ("we", "us", or "our"). For privacy questions, contact us at fireside@envie.studio.
You can connect Fireside to your Google account with Google Sign-In. When you do, you choose to grant the app these permissions:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/firebase) and Google Cloud Platform (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform): used to list the Firebase projects and databases you have access to, and to read, create, edit and delete Firestore documents, Firebase Authentication users and Cloud Storage files when you ask the app to.How this data is handled:
Fireside's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect at any time by removing the Google account in Fireside, which deletes its stored tokens from your computer. You can also revoke Fireside's access in your Google Account permissions.
If you connect a project with a service account key file instead, Fireside remembers where the file is on your computer and reads it locally to call Google's APIs. The key is never uploaded to us.
Fireside is sold through Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. Polar collects your name, email, billing address and payment details to process the purchase, and issues your license key. Polar's privacy policy applies: https://polar.sh/legal/privacy.
To activate and check your license, the app sends Polar:
The app checks the license when it starts, at most once a day. It also sends your license key to envie.studio to show how many devices the key is active on. We don't store it; only the device count is sent back.
After a purchase, we may add your name and email to our email list on Loops, to send purchase-related emails and occasional product updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Fireside checks for new versions by downloading a small update file from downloads.envie.studio, hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address to Cloudflare. No personal data is sent with it.
envie.studio uses Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that doesn't use cookies, to count page visits. The site is hosted on Cloudflare.
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to how it's used. To make a request, email fireside@envie.studio. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Fireside is a developer tool and isn't intended for children under 16.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. Significant changes will also be announced in the app's release notes.
